Cat Wise is an award-winning journalist who spent 25 years with the PBS NewsHour, covering a wide variety of issues across the U.S. and overseas as a producer and on-air correspondent.
She was the primary correspondent for two landmark NewsHour series — Raising the Future: America's Child Care Dilemma and Invisible Scars: America's Childhood Trauma Crisis — and has been a member of NewsHour reporting teams recognized with a Peabody Award, National Press Club Award, and two national Emmy nominations.
Cat co-founded HomeFront in 2025 to ensure all families have access to the trusted, fact-based journalism they deserve.

Kate McMahon is an Emmy and Peabody Award-winning producer, director and writer with more than 25 years of experience in documentary and broadcast journalism for PBS national programs, Oregon Public Broadcasting, and ABC News.
Her work includes producing the PBS NewsHour's landmark five-part national child care series Raising the Future: America's Child Care Dilemma in 2021, the Emmy-winning OPB series Class of 2025, PBS's four-part documentary series Hacking Your Mind, and numerous FRONTLINE documentaries.
Kate co-founded HomeFront in 2025 driven by a belief that the most powerful journalism begins by showing up in communities, earning families' trust, and giving voice to the stories that matter most to them.

Kathleen McGee is a technology and regulatory attorney and former prosecutor with more than 17 years of public sector experience.
As Bureau Chief of the Bureau of Internet & Technology for the New York State Attorney General's Office, she led regulation and enforcement on privacy, data security and consumer protection.
Earlier, she served as Director of the Office of Special Enforcement in the New York City Mayor's Office, where she directed litigation on intellectual property and civil nuisance matters and was a policy leader on issues ranging from data analytics to human trafficking.

Dave Davis brings more than four decades of experience in film, television production and public media station management to HomeFront's advisory board.
As Vice President of Programming at OPB for 26 years, he led the production of beloved Oregon series including Oregon Field Guide, Oregon Art Beat and Oregon Experience, and shepherded numerous national programs through the PBS system.
His work has earned three national Emmy Awards and ten nominations, a George Foster Peabody Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Award for Excellence in Journalism, and four regional Emmy Awards.

Tess Vigeland is a veteran journalist who spent more than a decade as an anchor and reporter for public radio’s Marketplace. She also anchored NPR’s Weekend All Things Considered and served as co-creator, host, and senior producer of the “As We Work” podcast at The Wall Street Journal.

Vigeland is currently host and executive producer of The Pie, an economics podcast from the University of Chicago, and she produces two shows, Smart Money and Smart Travel, for NerdWallet.
She is the recipient of multiple national journalism awards, including the 2019 Gracie Award for Best Host/Anchor, and the 2019 Edward R. Murrow Award for Continuing Coverage for her work on the catastrophic wildfire in Paradise, CA. Vigeland has been a contributing writer to The New York Times, The Guardian, and Quartz, among other national and international publications.
She’s an avid photographer and traveled solo for three years to 20 countries throughout Asia and the Middle East.

He also contributed to numerous national PBS programs, including Frontline, History Detectives, and the PBS NewsHour. His work has contributed to numerous regional Emmy awards as well as a duPont-Columbia Award.
Beyond his career in public media, Todd has been an active member of his community through a variety of volunteer roles. Most notably, he and his wife spent five years as foster parents, opening their home to adolescents and teenagers.
That experience gave Todd a firsthand appreciation for the challenges facing young people and families, which particularly drew him to HomeFront and its mission.
